We all find ourselves in a common situation from time to time: being hungry but not knowing where or what to eat. These are my top picks for the best restaurants in the area under several categories.
Best Chain Restaurant: Chili’s (Plainville, MA)
Chili’s works for everyone. If you’re looking to enjoy a juicy burger or some spicy Tex-Mex, Chili’s has it all. The atmosphere is always lively and the servers are so nice that you really feel like a valued customer. My personal favorite menu item is the Southern Smokehouse Burger which combines bacon, cheddar cheese, barbeque sauce, and many other flavorful ingredients.
Arguably the best part about Chili’s are its deals. Most popular of which would be their “3 for $10” option. This allows you to choose a drink, appetizer, and entree for only $10. Chili’s is a frontrunner on any budget.
Best Pizza Place: La Strada (North Attleboro, MA)
La Strada goes beyond the everyday pizzeria. One of my favorite aspects of La Strada is their extensive menu. Sure, you can get normal pizza here and it will be great, but look further on their menu and you will find some real gems. You can enjoy anything from burgers and pizza, to delicious subs, pasta, and salads. It doesn’t end there, they have steak, seafood, chicken, and calzones. The possibilities are limitless, all at very reasonable prices.
My all time favorite from La Strada is their taco pizza. Comprised of taco meat, crushed tortilla chips, salsa, and lettuce, the taco pizza tastes just like a taco, but has all the convenience and shareability of a pizza.
Give La Strada a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Best Food Made to Order: Panera Bread (North Attleboro, MA)
Behold; the great equalizer. It is a challenge to find someone who doesn’t like Panera, understandably. The menu stretches from soups to hot sandwiches and bakery items, which means there is something for everyone. At Panera, you order your food and it is made within minutes for you exactly how you want it.You can then either eat inside the restaurant or take the food to go. Panera is set apart from others in this category because of the level of quality you get in your food, it really seems like it was prepared fresh for you. My top picks at Panera are the chicken soup and the steak and white cheddar panini.
It can be said that futures are made at Panera. With their free Wifi, it is a common setting for college interviews and business meetings.
Best Breakfast: Don’s Diner (Plainville, MA)
On South St. in Plainville, there is a little diner next to An Unlikely Story, Don’s Diner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the servers treat you like you are the only people in the restaurant– although, many times you are the only people in the restaurant. The breakfast food is made quick and inexpensive, and you will always leave full and satisfied. When I eat at Don’s Diner, I always get hot coffee with pancakes and bacon, a true classic.
Those were my favorites for restaurants in the area. It’s great to know that no matter what you’re in the mood for, there are plenty of options nearby.
