The Student Council representatives for the class of 2017 is packed to the brim with intelligent kids who are ready to work hard for their class. Michael DiRenzo is one of these sharp tools in the shed, an all star if you will.
Although he doesn’t participate in any sports here at NAHS, he loves to ride on the backstreets of North Attleboro. “There’s so much to do, and so much to see here in North,” DiRenzo claims.
DiRenzo participates in many after school activities that aren’t related to athletics. In addition to Student Council, “Big Mike” as he is sometimes called, is a member of the Yearbook Committee, SADD, and the Model Senate.
As a member of the Student Council, Michael works to raise money to assist members of the local community. For example, this October, the Student Council is raising money to donate to Dana Farber for breast cancer research.
After school, DiRenzo works at Nautica in the Wrentham Outlets. When he isn’t working, he attends his friend’s sports games, and afterwards completes his homework. Michael is taking one AP class, two honors, and a couple level one classes, but the best part of his days he claims happens at night. “My favorite part of the day is going to sleep. After a long day and suffering through tough classes, I just want to lie down and close my eyes,” said Mike.
Next year Mike will be attending college to study finance, but he is still undecided as to where. “I’ve applied to a lot of state schools,” Michael said. “Schools such as UMass, UConn, URI, Bryant, and Bridgewater are ones in interested in.”
Michael DiRenzo is just an average kid, but he helps others and does his work. “College next year will be an experience but I think I’m ready.”
